It was raining outside, the kind of downpour that finds itself buckling against the pavement in loud emphatic strokes as bodies lodge themselves within buildings and homes to avoid the thick stream of fluid pooling around outdoors. I was well aware of the extent of the weather as I found myself awakening in a pool of what had once been my bed. Gradually, I pulled myself from my moist sheets and lifted my cloggy feet so that I was able to walk over and close my bedroom window.

“Hey dweeb, Jeremy called you,” said my prepubescent dickhead of a brother through the barrier of the door. I responded informing him that I received his call earlier.

Indeed, when my best friend from high school said he had one hell of a deal for me, I hadn’t expected what occurred. Jeremy was enrolled in some ritzy college on the east side of town that would never accept some Joe Blow type like me. Few years ago, I had decided to put off college for a year, and had since been putting it off. Anyways, he propositioned me with some young blonde chick he had met at a frat party. Said something in the direction of me needing to get laid or whatever. So I accepted.

That’s how I got here. Confetti in my hair, dressed in a referee’s getup and concealing a boner behind a bush on the campus of this high-class college, shivering, wet, horny, and alone.  As luck would have it, in my most brass moment of indiscretion, a wandering newbie found me vulnerably concealing myself. I cursed under my breath, swearing that today had to be the worst day of my life thus far. She looked to me, peering around the corner, with gooey eyes looking over the greenery and extended her hand to me as though to shake mine.

“Hi, I’m Ardor Willow Lily. You must be the tour guide, right? They told me I should look for a skinny guy with glasses…,” she beamed, stepping closer.

I looked around, distracted and looking for some escape from the obvious hell I had just encountered. “Huh? I think you're mistaken. Wrong person or something.”

She batted her thickly rimmed eyelids, and secured a smile, continuing, “No…no. Are you sure? You fit the RA's description. Well, even if you aren't do you mind showing me around? I don't have time to find the tour guide, and you seem like you're very familiar with the area, considering you picked the most secluded bush to hide in—wait, why are you in the bush?”

I felt myself about to vomit. I really did not envision a happy future following being found out. “Oh.  I see, you must be a new student. I am the guide. So sorry, I was just waiting here for...the next tour to start. I'm Gene, by the way.”

Unaffected, she replied with eagerness, “Yes, I am a new student! Nice to meet you Gene, what year are you?”

“Junior. You ready for this or what?” I said, becoming impatient.

“I’m ready. So Gene the Junior, what’s your major? If I were to guess, I think you'd be majoring in Anthropology, but that is just because you seem like you have ants in your pants.”

“I'm undecided. But lemme take a guess at your major. Probably history,” I spoke, my voice clipped, before continuing under my breath, “since you seem so dull.”

Her face turned grim, and her voice laced itself with sarcasm as she retorted, “Hm, well with that argument you should be a lawyer. Actually I am a psychology major. I like to study the effects sodomy takes on human mind, I think you'd be an excellent specimen to observe.”

I watched as she froze and her features turned a blossoming red. “I'm sorry Gene, that was rude of me. Let's begin again, shall we? Hi, I'm Ardor, nice to meet you.”

I stared at her. Blinded by her absolute ludicrousness, and laughed. “You’re something else, kid. We’re coming up on the dorms. Will you commute or are you staying in the dorms?”

“Why thank you, but I'm no kid I turned eighteen last week,” she briefly stuck her tongue out, “I’m dorming because I moved out here to get away from my grandparents and I don't think I could commute between here and Lansing very easily. Do you commute?”

“Uh, no. Well, yes, but no. I don’t live in the dorms, but I live across town so it’s not too far of a walk. But since I don’t dorm, I’m afraid I can’t give you a tour of the dorms. I’m sure one of the other guides would be glad to though…”

She looked to me with suspicious eyes. “Nah, I'd like to keep you as my guide.”

I groaned internally, before she spoke again.

“You seem...fidgety.” There was a long silence. “I like that.”

Her eyes. Round brown saucers that looked like they might just devour me at that very moment. I was prey. She leaned into me at my side, probably completely unaware that moments prior she was walking next to a walking pogo stick, and looked at me as if to bite me or lure me in, I wasn’t certain. I was positively terrified of a dainty looking little girl.
